This hanging / suncatcher glass panel illustrates the seaside using low relief and colours to accentuate the motion of the sea and create a dramatic effect. Some parts of the panel are slightly translucent and sandblasted to let the light through when hung in a window. You can also see the whitewash coming onto the beach, the colours of the sea are blue and turquoise, there are seagulls in the sky, 2 hooks at the top and a cord going through, you can easily adjust the length of the cord.
DIMENSIONS: 12x12cm | 5x5"
The front of the panel is textured and the back is smooth.
After completing his degree in Glass in 2002, Matthew worked for a large glass design company in London before setting up his own business in 2012. Matthew designs and makes everything in his studio in Dorset, on the south coast of the UK, near the Jurassic Coast. All the moulds are handcarved, he applies the colours manually and the glass is slumped over the mould in a kiln at temperatures over 800C and annealed to ensure strength and durability.
